I couldn't find chorizo at the meat counter when I needed it, so I got the prepackaged stuff from the deli aisle. My first indication that this was going to be unpleasant was when I slit open the package and the stuff literally burst out of the package.
I dumped it into a pan and as soon as it got warm, it melted into a pool of liquid meat. As it cooked, the smell became bad, then awful, then terrible. I finally decided I'd never be able to eat the stuff and dumped it out.
